appearance:  myrrhis' hair is a warm, light shade of blonde, with a very fine, naturally slightly wavy texture. she has bangs covering her forehead and used to just wear the rest of her hair open most of the time, but during her time in ishgard she began making it a habit to wear it in two large braided pigtails that fall down to her front, initially to keep the harsh coearthan wind from whipping her hair into her face constantly but now she just prefers to keep her hair this way.

before getting spirited away to the first she used to have natural reddish brown highlights as well as the tips of her ears, but the brown parts of her hair bleached out and turned white as a result of the light corruption she suffered during her stint as the warrior of darkness, and even after her aether and body returned to normal those strands stayed white permanently afterwards.

myrrhis' face is heart shaped and soft, with almond shaped eyes that are a light shade of purple and framed by dark eyelashes. her lips are wide and moderately full, and her overall expression is usually friendly and approachable. while her nose is on the small side she sports the signature bunny-like tip that all viera do, and the back of her nose has a smooth aquiline curve to it.

other typical viera features are her rabbit-like ears, which are quite long and broad, with long, messy tufts of fur at the base and tips, as well as a short fuzzy tail.

her light skin is covered in freckles all over - especially on her face, shoulders, chest, upper arms and thighs - as well as an assortment of scars, most of them small and faded, but with two more prominent ones - one on her right shoulder and one on her torso respectively.

she doesn’t really tan, and while prolonged exposure to the sun usually makes her freckles explode even more so than usual she is also prone to sunburns when she's in hot, sunny weather for too long without precautions.

the most noticeable feature to most who look at her is probably her height as she is quite tall, standing at 1.91m (minus the ears). her hips and waist are wide and she sports a belly pouch and body fat especially around her hips, thighs and arms. overall, she is strong and healthy.

other trademarks she's hardly ever seen without include dark lipstick, a wooden flower hairclip in the shape of a rose, an earring with a crystal shard in her left ear and her Azem stone hung on a choker around her neck which she usually wears, as well as a woven bracelet around her right wrist.

personality:  myrrhis is a kind and friendly individual, and both her personality and her body language are warm, open and welcoming to those she meets. much like venat she too holds a lot of love in her heart for her fellow men and she thrives on making connections with other people - a stranger is a friend you haven’t met yet, as her father used to tell her when she was very young, and those are words she lives by to this day.

a master at taking things in stride, myrrhis is generally very patient and not easily thrown for a loop no matter how strange or precarious a situation might get - she’s lived through a lot of weird shit at this point, and freaking out never solved any problems for her, after all. that and the fact that she's very much down to earth give her an aura of calm, solid confidence that people generally find reassuring.

her outgoing personality and status as warrior of light makes her a bit of a social butterfly, however - many people know her, but few people actually know her. while she keeps things light hearted with most of her acquaintances the majority of these relationships are only surface level, and there’s just a select few who actually get a glimpse into her inner workings and who know her on a more personal level.

despite her jovial nature myrrhis is by no means naive - she's seen how the world works and she witnessed first hand the cruelty and depravity some individuals are capable of - but even so she remains a stalwart believer in the inherent goodness of people. she will always choose hope over despair and try to see the good in a situation or a person alike until drastically proven otherwise.

that being said, it takes a lot to get on her bad side, but once you managed to do that you'll have to put in the work to earn her forgiveness, let alone her trust, and she won't give either again easily unless the person in question genuinely seems remorseful and earnestly tries to make amends. to her, actions speak louder than words.

she herself, too, is a doer rather than a talker. having to get involved in politics of any kind has always been a nightmare for her, and few things test her patience like having her hands bound by petty bickering and formalities. In those cases she will happily sit back and observe as the more diplomatic-minded ones of her friends handle the situation, since she knows she can trust them to resolve the situation better and faster than she could ever hope to so she can go back to doing what she does best - stopping the world from ending, one way or another.

hobbies:  she loves to grow flowers in her house and her garden, sometimes bringing new seeds and sprouts or saplings from her travels to add to her little collection. she tends to them whenever she has the time to breathe in-between her travels, and her retainers take care of them during the times she’s gone to ensure her plants won't die in her absence.

the only thing she loves more than taking care of her garden is pampering and spoiling her chocobo, sesame, and besides that she also collects small trinkets from her travels that she keeps around her home.

~ Biography ~

myrrhis was born and raised under the forest name hlif in venko, a village in traditional dalmascan Veena Viera territory in the forests bordering the Skatay Range.venko village was unusual for a viera settlement, however, only very loosely following the Green Word by respecting and caring for the forest, but besides that there was no separation of genders, no wood-warders, no immediate exile upon leaving and the village frequently welcomed outside visitors in the form of traders due to being relatively close to the forest’s southern edge which could be reached by only a few days of travel on foot.the village thrived on the trade, exchanging the bounty that the forest provided them for wares that would have been otherwise hard to come by, and life in venko was comfortable and peaceful for its inhabitants.myrrhis' mother is the head of venko village - a fierce huntress and strong leader, well-loved and respected by her people. while she loved her children dearly she wasn’t always the best at showing it and was also very strict, especially with myrrhis who was supposed to take over the leadership of the village one day in the future.with those expectations myrrhis’ mother put a lot of pressure on her from a young age on, trying to shape her into a person fit for the mantle of leadership, and myrrhis struggled with not wanting to let her mother down while also not really being that interested in the role in the first place. She had always been a free spirit who loved it best to roam and wander the forest rather than being confined in the village, or to go hunt and forage with her father. that tension between her and her mother, as well as later circumstances, led to their relationship slowly deteriorating as the years passed.in his younger years, long before he started a family, myrrhis' father had taken advantage of their village’s less strict rules and set out to travel for a while.he picked up the bardic arts along the way and when he eventually returned home he brought with him a rich treasure trove of stories and songs from lands far beyond the forest which he shared with his children as they grew up, instilling dreams of adventuring and traveling the star in little myrrhis from an early age on and only feeding into her wanderlust.Myrrhis was barely in her teens when her village’s proximity to the forest’s edge, which had helped it thrive for so long, became its downfall as it didn’t take long for them to get found by the garleans during the invasion of dalmasca.the attack was vicious and brutal, and while myrrhis was taken to safety with her sister and the other kits, many of the adults tried to organize a defense. despite fighting bravely they stood no chance against the garlean magitek weapons and they soon got overwhelmed - most of them died, some got taken prisoners, and what little survivors remained scattered franctically amongst the trees.the village burned for days after the garleans finally retreated, and along with their homes burned the bodies of the fallen, making it impossible to identify the dead - myrrhis father presumed among them in the aftermath. Her mother, who had been leading the charge after entrusting her children to those fleeing to safety, barely escaped alive only thanks to being carried away by her comrades after getting gravely wounded, and once the ashes had settled and the charred bones of their dead had been laid to rest she gathered what little survivors there were left. Together they retreated as deep into the forest as possible to tend to their wounds, mourn their lost, and begin the painful process of rebuilding their lives.eventually a new venko village was built, hidden away deeper in the forest and the mountains, closed off and fortified.the tragedy had hardened myrrhis mother and the adults and In their grief and desperation the village collectively turned to the old ways, and it was decided that they would adhere to the traditional Viera way of life from now on, in the hopes that following the green word as it was intended the forest would protect them from another tragedy like this. The men left the village, the women stayed, and any outsiders were to be kept away - those came in the form of desperate refugees, the few and far in-between who had been driven so deep into the forest by fear of the Garlean invaders and survived long enough to stumble over their village.Growing up myrrhis lost count of all those desperate, fearful faces she had seen getting turned away, dirty and gaunt and wounded and starving; some begging, some bargaining, some demanding to be let in.But the gates stayed closed and Venko’s guardians, stone-faced and with arrows and blades pointed at the outsiders, would make it clear that the only thing they would hand out to them was a swift death, and to move on if they valued their lives.in the end all of them were driven off and left to the mercy of the forest, and myrrhis didn't have to go looking for their bodies to know that none of these people ever made it out of the woods alive.as she grew older she began speaking up, but for her long-lived elders she was still nothing more than a naive child so her words fell on deaf ears, and through gritted teeth she had to learn to live with the growing sense of guilt and resentment clawing at her heart. Most days she couldn’t stand being in the village for longer than necessary so she took to roaming the forest more frequently, against her mothers wishes and often for days on end without returning, sometimes even going so far as to find herself in the ruins of their old village which she was frequently drawn back to, for reason she didn't really understand herself. It was there that the pivotal moment that would change the traction of her life forever eventually came. where she usually only found the charred and burned foundations of her former life, that day she encountered a miqo'te girl scavenging the ruined houses for anything useful.it was then when myrrhis stepped closer to confront the stranger that something unexplainable happened - the sky that was peeking through the trees above turned red and a starshower began raining down, and in that moment she heard a faint voice calling to her.next thing myrrhis knew she saw the miqo'te girl's past flash before her eyes: captured in a garlean raid, shipped off to one of their overseas labour camps and forced to work under horrid condition before finally making her escape.it was a bizarre experience, but once it had passed myrrhis began explaining to the miqo'te who she was and what she had just seen before she proceeded to share what little provisions she had brought with her. after spending some time with her newfound friend, whose name was a'ruta, myrrhis decided to go back to the village for more provisions but promised to be back the next day.Over the weeks that followed their initial encounter she returned regularly to bring a'Ruta supplies and to help her with hunting and foraging, but after a close call with a Garlean patrol - avoided only through that mysterious power again - myrrhis finally decided to take a'ruta to Venko, hoping she could sway her mother to make an exception just this once and allow the young woman to live with them. Her mother, however, would not be swayed. she was furious with her daughter for not only knowingly bringing a stranger to their village, but one that the garleans were actively searching for on top of that, accusing her of endangering everyone in the village on a childish whim.when myrrhis refused to abandon a'ruta a fight broke out between her and her mother, and ultimately she decided there and then that she had had enough of the isolation and the callousness for an innocent person’s life, and she vowed that if ruta was not allowed to stay here neither would she, and she would help her get back to eorzea herself.her mother scoffed at this but myrrhis was resolved, telling the gathered villagers that she would take a'ruta home because her loved ones were probably praying for her safe return just like she knew everyone in the village was still waiting against all hope for their lost ones to somehow come back to them as well, and while doing this might not bring their own people home she could only hope that someone out there would extend them a helping hand when they needed it most as well. And so myrrhis left her home with her new companion. Her departure was not at all like she had imagined as a child, when her home and family had still been whole and being welcomed back into the village after travelling the star had still been an option. too many things had changed, and while she knew at this point that she would never be able to return she also felt like she could not stay in this place even just a day longer.getting to Eorzea was a long and arduous journey but by the time they made it ruta and myrrhis had grown close like sisters, and after reuniting ruta with her clan and family they offered her a place with them. she happily accepted, not knowing yet at that point that she would find a second family with them.Soon after she began living with the a clan she took on the name A'myrrhis, as it was customary for viera to let go of their forest name and take on a new one after leaving their forest homes behind. however, despite everything that had happened she decided to keep venko as her last name, a quiet wish to carry a piece of her home into the world despite her home having shut the rest of the world out.she lived with the A Clan for a few years until after the calamity, when she decided to become an adventurer. she felt an urge to travel and see different places, to get to know these new lands she called her home now better, meet new people and help those in need, but even after heading out to join both the adventurers' and arcanist guilds in limsa lominsa and she still considers the A clan family, and they consider her family just as much.once in limsa lominsa she took her first steps towards her new adventuring life - without the slightest idea of the impossible places this decision would lead her to in the future.

  • wren venko

  • race: veena viera

  • age: early 30s (start of dawntrail)

  • occupation: machinist/gunbreaker hybrid (she cooked that up herself) | engineer at garlond ironworks

wren is the youngest sister of the trio and technically the half-sister of the older two, but they never really bothered to make the distinction.she was born a few years after the massacre of their village, so while she never experienced the horrors of garlean warfare herself she grew up with stories about the garleans and their magitek weapons, and saw the dark shadows pass over the adults' faces when they spoke of them - though instead of instilling fear in Wren, hearing stories of these strange contraptions only filled her with morbid curiosity. She got obsessed by the need to understand what had everyone so scared, so she eventually began begging her oldest sister, who she knew was making her rounds around the forest and kept circling back to their old village on occassion, to bring her whatever scrap pieces of magitek she could find.her sister objected at first but when wren wouldn't give up on bothering her she eventually relented and started to bring back small pieces of junk she deemed safe for her to handle, hoping she'd get bored of them eventually - but wren's curiosity knew no bounds, and soon she had a little hideout tucked away in a little cave away from the village where she hoarded her forbidden little treasures and started tinkering with them, trying to understand what she was dealing with, hoping that by understanding she maybe could also help others be less afraid.when myrrhis eventually left the village for good not only did wren lose her beloved sister but also her steady supply of new magitek junk, although that did not stop her from continuing to tinker with what she had.when naya approached her a few years later and told her she was also planning on leaving the village wren jumped on the chance to go as well - both to hopefully see myrrhis again, and also to maybe finally find a place where she could actually study magitek under someone who knew more than she could ever hope to learn by herself.when they eventually reunited with myrrhis she introduced wren to cid, who agreed to hire her as a trainee engineer, finally making her wish come true and setting her on a path to conquer the world of magitek one little exploding trinket at a time.Wren is the name she took on as city name, her forest name was Ianka.

  • Lady Azrael

  • race: voidsent

  • age: thousands of years old

  • occupation: voidsent, reaper avatar, living sanctuary | former priestess, adventurer, memoriate

azrael is the azem shard of the 13th and myrrhis' reaper avatar.Back before the 13th got swallowed by darkness her name was Sybylla, and she was a Raen Au’ra (by source terms) priestess, deemed special among the clergy for having the Echo. Due to that she was in line to be made head oracle of her temple, but instead she ran off one day to become a traveling cleric as she always had had an adventurous spirit and didn’t just want to sit in a stuffy temple all her life - instead of waiting for the people to come to her she wanted to be the one to go to the people and aid those who were in need of help and succor. Her strong desire to protect people eventually drove her to become a Memoriate in the Contramemoria. She made quite a name for herself as a hero during that time, but towards the end of the war in a seemingly hopeless attempt to save a village she succumbed to desperation and used the powers stored in her memoriate crystal, defeating her foe but accidentally twisting the very villagers she was trying to protect in the process. Sybylla was devastated, and not too long after the 13th was finally swallowed by darkness as a result of the war.Overwhelmed by dark aether her body got twisted into a humanoid voidsent, but due to her Echo her mind and memories remained her own - seemingly a curse, as knowing how the world had changed and how she contributed to it drove her almost mad, and she chose to hide away for the first few centuries with her shame and grief, refusing to consume others who had been twisted like her for aether and starving herself as a form of punishment.Eventually another voidsent found her.Weakened as she was by hundreds of years of refusing to consume others she prepared herself to be eaten, but to her confusion the other voidsent began begging her to consume him instead. He was looking for a means of escaping the cycle of death and rebirth that their world was now trapped in, but he also didn't want to get consumed by one of the powerful, violent voidsent out there, so with Sybylla hiding away from the world as she was, he reasoned she was his best option of something resembling a peaceful rest.Unable to ignore his pleas she agreed and consumed him, taking his soul unto herself. It was in this moment that she decided this was a sign from the gods, that there was still good she could do even in this twisted world, to atone for her deeds. She took on the name Azrael, and strengthened for the first time in centuries she left her hiding place with renewed purpose - she would seek out other souls like the voidsent that had come to her, those who were desperate to escape the cycle but scared of getting consumed by the strong and violent, and she would offer them to consume them instead, to give their souls a safe place to rest until the day some kind of miracle would free their world from the wheel, and then as a final act of atonement she would end her life, enabling all those souls she had consumed to return safely to the lifestream once again.Thousands of years later she met Myrri during her sojourn to the 13th. A powerful voidsent in her own right at this point Azrael had steered clear of Golbez, not agreeing with his approach - however, she sensed a kinship with Myrri and proposed a pact: she would lend her powers to the curious visitor if she promised to use them to stop golbez and help find a less violent way to return their world to normal, so Azrel could fulfill her final promise to those many peaceful souls she had taken into herself over the past thousands of years for safekeeping, and return them at long last to their well-deserved rest in the aetherial sea.Myrrhis agreed - marking the beginning of their partnership as reaper and avatar.

  • hemera

  • race: ancient

  • age: sundered

  • occupation: azem | former elpis field researcher

Hemera was myrrhis' (as well as azrael's and ardbert's) azem.before she was promoted to her seat in the convocation of fourteen she worked as a field researcher for elpis, which meant that her work was mainly away from the facility itself.Hemera would spend most of her time traveling from place to place, monitoring concepts that had been recently released as it was her job to study them in their new wild habitats, to check on them and see if they were acclimating properly to their new surroundings, and to ensure the safety of the creatures and anyone and anything that could potentially encounter them.as it was part of her job to also dispose of concepts that still proved to be "faulty" and more dangerous than anticipated in the wild even after the extensive testing and research done in elpis prior to release she was also a skilled fighter with both magic and blade - although she was known for her unconventional methods, and would rather try to rehabilitate a creature that acted out of line and only resort to killing if absolutely necessary as she valued life, even if created by the hands of her people.it was on one of those "work trips" that she caught the then-azem venat's attention who happened to be traveling in the same area in which a particularly strong and angry concept had gone rogue, and hemera was trying to pacify it. the beast was strong and clever so she ended up struggling more than anticipated, and when venat offered to lend her a hand she gladly accepted.they turned out to be an excellent team and in the end managed to resolve the situation without the need to kill the creature, an outcome which pleased them both.after this incidents the two became close friends and companions, and years later down the line venat named hemera as her successor for the seat of azem when she decided to retire from her position.though hesitant at first because she took pride and joy in the work she was doing for elpis, hemera eventually accepted, believing she would be able to do even more good for life on her beloved star that way.
